Regimental colours

The regimental colour was adopted 21, November, 1942. Ratio - 1:1. Colours (regimental, divisional etc) were standardized in the Armed Forces (similar in the Army, Aviation and Navy):

  • Obverse - red field, a red star yellow bordered and the full name and number of a military unit below. Each unit has its own inscription.
  • Reverse - red field, a gold hammer and sickle and the motto «For our Soviet Motherland» (Çà íàøó ñîâåòñêóþ ðîäèíó! | Za nas^u Sovetskuu^ Rodinu);
All the Colours were red with gold fringe and square in form. (Some soviet artists drew this colour without inscriptions — on post cards, post stamps etc. — together with flags of the Navy and
